We have seen our community steadily grow to over two hundred members, and beyond, with partners and projects globally. To date, we have worked with over 85 projects on 5 continents. Each year we recognise the value that our community brings to projects working to improve the lives of women and girls.

Bridging Philanthropy & Impact Investing for Women’s Economic Empowerment
How can we move beyond traditional aid and catalyze sustainable, long-term solutions for women and girls in emerging markets and underserved communities? As humanitarian crises grow, it is more urgent than ever to shift from dependency on aid to market-based solutions that drive real economic empowerment and systemic change.
Building an organisation, raising funding and delivering impactful results for stakeholders is hugely challenging, and the idea of building and maintaining a strategic plan can seem like yet more work for funders that takes time away from the important work of getting things done.
Dire pronouncements abound: international development is “crumbling,” “unraveling,” and facing “systemic shocks.”
Following our recent panel on the impact and opportunities arising from the recent funding cuts, including the shutdown of USAID and global reductions in development aid, Giving Women has organized a second panel focusing on the effects on the livelihoods of women in the most underserved communities. As we come to terms with the realities of these cuts, we aim to explore how we can shift dependency away from foreign aid and work towards a world where solutions are found within communities and countries themselves.
