Apero & conversation with ActionAid
Register Now In 2024, Giving Women celebrates with great pride its 15th anniversary. We have seen our community steadily grow to over two hundred members, and beyond, with partners and projects globally. To date, we have worked with over 75 projects on 5 continents. Each year we recognise the value that our community brings to projects working to improve the lives of women and girls.
So come and get to know other Giving Women members and the exciting work they are all doing, and be inspired over a light Apero at our offices.
On this occasion, we will dedicate a space to ActionAid and its experience in promoting women’s rights in Malawi, featuring the ActionAid team and two guests from Malawi.
Guests:
Yandura Chipeta, Country Director, ActionAid Malawi
Mezia Chigango, recipient of ActionAid projects and member of the Kasumbu Women Forum Malawi
Claudia Vitali, Philanthropy and Partnerships, AA Italy and Switzerland
Caterina Ghislandi, Head of Institutional and High Value Funding, AA Italy and Switzerland
For additional context about the Forum, it is a group of passionate women and young girls committed to promoting sustainable socio-economic development, with a particular focus on women’s issues.

Empowering Women Through Sustainable Solar Solutions in the Fight Against Climate Change: A Success Story of GreenLamp and partnership with Solar Foundation Ethiopia
This Giving Women event builds upon the themes explored in our recent conference, "Women at the Frontline of Climate Action and Innovation." It offers a compelling case study of GreenLamps "Light" pillar, showcasing a sustainable solar success story that empowers women in the most underserved communities. Joanna Boyd from GreenLamp will highlight the transformative impact of solar energy in enhancing women's lives, focusing on health, education, and economic opportunities. Samson Tsegaye, from the Solar Foundation Ethiopia, will discuss the organization's vital role and explain why this collaboration with GreenLamp has been so successful in addressing climate issues at the grassroots level. The session will also delve into the challenges faced, the solutions crafted, and how strategic partnerships can deliver long-lasting impact.
The event will offer participants actionable insights to apply in their own project circles, addressing critical questions such as: How do we create meaningful partnerships to tackle climate-related issues? How do we ensure that the most underserved communities, especially women, are at the centre of our sustainability efforts? Join us to learn, exchange ideas, and be inspired to create change where it matters most.
