Yet strategic planning is perhaps the most important work you can do to ensure your organisation achieves its goals as effectively as possible.

This workshop will help you understand the role of strategic planning, and why it’s needed. It will explore who strategic planning is for, how you go about building a strategic plan for your organisation, and who should be involved. You will learn how your strategic plan can be linked with your day-to-day work, and how to adapt your work or your plan in response to changing circumstances.

Things to think about before the workshop

Do you have a clear statement of the purpose of your organisation that describes why you are doing your work, not how you are doing your work?
Can you identify the three to five key objectives for your organisation over the next 12 months that will mean it is more effectively delivering on its purpose?
Can you identify three key factors affecting your work that you can directly control?
Can you identify three key factors affecting your work that you cannot control?
