SUMMARY:Women Driving Climate Action (Zurich Climate Week)
DESCRIPTION:Giving Women is leading a panel conversation at Zurich Climate Week. \nLearn more and register on the official Zurich Climate Week site here \nClimate change is not gender-neutral. Women are disproportionately affected by its impacts — yet they are also among the most powerful drivers of climate solutions. \nAcross sectors such as agriculture\, water\, energy\, and biodiversity\, women are already building resilience\, leading innovation\, and shaping sustainable systems. However\, their role remains under-recognised and underfunded. \nThis event by Giving Women brings together key actors across philanthropy\, finance\, and practice to explore how we can better connect capital with impactful\, women-led climate solutions — and accelerate meaningful change. \nWhy it matters \nDespite their central role\, only a small fraction of climate finance reaches women-led initiatives. \nUnlocking the full potential of women in climate action is not only a matter of equity — it is essential for building scalable\, effective\, and sustainable solutions. \nBy shifting the narrative from women as beneficiaries to women as leaders and solution drivers\, we can strengthen climate resilience\, advance biodiversity\, and contribute to more inclusive economic systems. \nThe panel \nThe event will feature a dynamic panel discussion bringing together organisations working at the intersection of climate\, gender\, finance and system change\, including Medair\, Unearthodox\, ShEquity and The Table. \nThe conversation will explore: \n\nHow climate change impacts women on the ground\nHow women are already driving nature-society or socio-environmental solutions across key sectors\nHow can we collectively help level the playing field for systemic transformation\nWhat is needed to scale these solutions through innovative financing approaches\n\nThe panel will connect real-world insights with strategic perspectives\, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for systemic change. \nLearn more and register on the official Zurich Climate Week site here

SUMMARY:Giving Women Annual General Assembly - Members only
DESCRIPTION:Please login to the Members Area to see the “member ticket” option to register. \nThe Giving Women Annual General Assembly is much more than a formal meeting. It is an opportunity for our community to come together\, reflect on the impact we have created over the past year\, and help shape what comes next. \nThis is a special evening to reconnect with fellow members\, hear inspiring updates from across the organisation\, celebrate the collective achievements of our community\, and contribute your voice to the conversations that will guide Giving Women through 2026–2027. \nAs our community continues to grow and evolve\, your participation and perspective matter deeply. The Assembly is a chance to better understand where we are heading\, the priorities and opportunities ahead\, and how each of us can continue to play a meaningful role in advancing our mission together. \nWe hope you can join us in person at Atalanti’s home for what promises to be an engaging and energising evening of connection\, reflection\, and shared purpose. \nFor members unable to attend in person\, the administrative portion of the General Assembly will also be accessible via Zoom from 18:00. \n  \nSpecial Guest: Alisha Miranda Fernandez\nWe are thrilled to welcome a very special surprise guest to this year’s Giving Women AGA: Alisha Miranda Fernandez. \nAtalanti first encountered Alisha many years ago when she presented at the Thomson Reuters Foundation Conference\, where she showcased an app identifying shops selling ethical fashion. She was unforgettable\, a force of nature\, full of joy\, kindness\, intelligence\, and she has been an admirer ever since. \nAlisha is the bestselling author of Someone’s Gotta Give\, a novel that follows Lucia\, a Latina non-profit executive and new mother newly arrived in London. When Lucia lands her dream job advising the wealthy and powerful on their philanthropy\, she must learn to tell the difference between meaning well and doing good. It is a sharp\, warm\, and deeply relevant story. Atalanti has read it herself and cannot recommend it highly enough. Copies will be available on the day. \nBeyond her writing\, Alisha is the former CEO and current Chair of I.G. Advisors\, an award-winning social impact intelligence agency that works with some of the world’s largest non-profits\, companies\, and foundations on their philanthropy and social impact strategies. Her clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation\, the Ford Foundation\, and UN Women. She speaks and writes regularly on women’s empowerment\, social impact\, and sustainability. \nPlease note:\nFollowing the formal session\, we will continue the evening over a buffet dinner and informal conversation. Additional details about the social part of the evening will follow. Partners are warmly welcome to join from 19:30\, just mark “2 tickets” when you register so that we can prepare accordingly.

SUMMARY:Bridging the first and last mile: enhancing mobility and access to health for women and girls
DESCRIPTION:Giving Women\, in collaboration with World Bicycle Relief and ROKPA INTERNATIONAL\, and Save the Children Switzerland is hosting a panel conversation and interactive experience exploring how mobility poverty remains a root cause of gender inequity in healthcare access. \n\nIn many underserved communities\, distance can mean the difference between care and hardship. While women are often the primary health managers for their families\, geographic isolation and lack of transportation continue to prevent millions from accessing essential and life-saving healthcare services. \nThis event will explore how practical and scalable solutions — from the Buffalo Bicycle to mobile healthcare clinics — can help bridge the mobility access gap and transform healthcare delivery in remote regions. By connecting on-the-ground experience with philanthropy and systems thinking\, we aim to foster collaboration and inspire concrete action toward more inclusive and accessible healthcare solutions. \nAtalanti Moquette\, Founder – Giving Women\nOpening the evening with reflections on the importance of the right to mobility for access to health. \nThe Panel \n\nAlisha Myers\, Executive Director of Impact & Learning – World Bicycle Relief (WBR) \nExploring how purpose-designed bicycles empower community health workers to reach more patients\, reduce travel time\, and ensure the “last mile” is no longer out of reach.\nZoe Bozzolan-Kenworthy\, CEO – ROKPA INTERNATIONAL\nHighlighting its mobile clinic model\, bringing essential healthcare services directly to remote and underserved communities where access to medical care remains limited.\nAdam Cianciara\, Head Foundations\, Major Donors\, Legacies – Save the Children Switzerland\nSharing how bringing healthcare closer to communities through schools\, community health workers\, and local partnerships can help remove the barriers that prevent women and children from accessing life-saving care.\n\n\nModerated by Giving Women’s co-lead for Zurich\, Alina Bulugioiu.

SUMMARY:From growing pains to growing gains - Part 5 - Building Sustainable Funding
DESCRIPTION:Workshop 5 – Building sustainable funding: fuel for growth\nAs the fifth workshop in our From Growing Pains to Growing Gains series\, this session brings together many of the themes explored throughout the series. In an increasingly competitive and uncertain funding environment\, successful fundraising requires more than compelling proposals. It requires a clear strategy\, strong donor relationships\, a convincing case for support\, and the ability to demonstrate impact. \nBuilding on previous workshops in the series\, this session will explore how organisations can strengthen their fundraising efforts by aligning resource mobilisation with their mission\, strategy\, and financial realities. Participants will gain practical insights into developing a diversified funding approach\, identifying and engaging potential donors\, and communicating their work in ways that inspire trust and support. \nThis workshop will explore the different sources of funding available to non-profit organisations\, including foundations\, institutional donors\, corporate partnerships\, individual giving\, community fundraising. etc. Participants will learn how to build meaningful donor relationships\, develop compelling funding propositions\, and create fundraising plans that support both immediate needs and long-term sustainability. \n  \nAbout our facilitators \nElisabeth Kalman-Sarkis\nElisabeth is Chair of the Governing Board of International Social Service (ISS)\, a global NGO dedicated to cross-border child protection\, family reunification\, and child welfare advocacy. \nShe previously led corporate fundraising strategy and global fundraising efforts at Jesuit Worldwide Learning\, an edtech nonprofit providing higher education opportunities to refugees and other marginalised communities. Elisabeth also contributes to thought leadership on nonprofit governance through the Stanford Directors’ Consortium\, where she serves on the Executive Leadership Team. \nBefore moving into the nonprofit sector\, Elisabeth spent a decade at Boston Consulting Group\, leading strategy\, M&A\, and post-merger integration projects across multiple industries. \nA dedicated member of Giving Women for more than eight years\, Elisabeth currently serves on its Executive Committee. \nCatherine Bukhal\nCatherine is Partnership Lead at SIFI – the SDG Impact Finance Initiative\, where she leads the initiative’s funder strategy and connects donor priorities to its programmatic direction across nature\, climate\, and social impact in low- and middle-income countries. \nShe brings nearly a decade of experience across development finance\, working with bilateral donors\, the EU\, and international financial institutions. At the International Trade Centre\, she developed project proposals across Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
